Steven S. Scherer - Senior Editor

Steven S. Scherer is the William N. Kelley Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is particularly interested in the structure and function of myelinated axons, the pathogenesis of inherited neuropathies, and axonal regeneration. His current research is centred on the function of glial gap junctions, especially as it relates to the pathogenesis of X-linked Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and Pelizaeus-Merzbacher-like disease, and how ion channels are organized in myelinated axons.
