Gary Landreth - Senior Editor

Dr Gary Landreth is Professor of Neurosciences and Director of the Alzheimer Research Laboratory at Case Western Reserve University. One focus of his laboratory is the investigation of the biological basis of Alzheimer's disease. Specifically, the laboratory is focused on understanding the roles of nuclear receptors in regulating lipid metabolism in the brain and how ApoE genes affect the risk in getting AD. The role of inflammation in AD and microglial biology is being actively studied. A second research interest is the role of the ERK MAP kinases in neural development and their involvement in cognition and neuro-cranio-facio-cutaneous syndromes in humans.
