Figure S1 Severity and developmental timescale of the tremors in JOE mice

The hemizygous JOE mice exhibited a severe intention tremor that began at ˜P15 in the tail. With age, the tremor increased in intensity starting in the tail and involving more of the body as it moved progressively towards the head. By ˜P28, the tremor reached peak intensity, affecting the entire body. After P28, the tremor slowly began to abate progressively in the reverse direction, from head to tail. By P50–P60 the tremors are virtually unnoticeable. However, at ages beyond P50, the JOE mice still exhibited modest intention tremors when they had to locomote against resistance such as that experience when their tail is held in place as they attempt to move forward (i.e. supranormal proprioceptive load). A video of typical severity and body involvement in the tremor of a P28 JOE mouse can be viewed in Movie 1.
